Super Mario is a video game but it's creation story holds an important lesson that many startups would do well to absorb.

When it comes to startups, the common doctrine is to rush towards testing prototypes with your audience as quickly as possible. This advice is meant to guide young entrepreneurs away from perfectionism and towards finding product market fit. This is great advice. But like all advice, if taken to the extreme it can backfire.
